This track aims to downsize the effects of climate change to a user scale through analysis of different thermal comfort scenarios. The context of Egypt was used referring to eight cities at various climatic zones to attain implementation strategies that meet with SDG goals 2030. Past and future effects on the outdoor thermal comfort were analyzed to highlight the mitigation and/or adaptation strategies to fight the warming of cities. Researches focuses on thermal comfort and the built environment.
The track investigates various built environments according to its climatic conditions and urban parameters which defer walkability. previous explorations were conducted in the context of Dubai and currently in Heliopolis, Cairo. The interconnectedness between the social and environmental parameters is used to signify the urban design attributes to promote walkability. Researches focuses on mainly three tracks, walkability indicators, influence of air flow on human perception, and Pollution.
The track focusing on utilizing various methods and techniques to explore the environmental parameters of the outdoor environments, the indoor environments and the relation between both. Microclimatic simulation, building performance tools and environmental monitoring is used to overcome gaps in each method.
